Well,my name is Dan,and the Freit bit is the first part of my surname,those who know me know what the full name is,what am i talking about its no big deal its Freitas,unlike someone on OSA who thought i was German,its actually a Portuguese name. Im 35,just,i live in Blackpool,always have,hopefully always wont!! In my house lives my Daughter Olivia 14,from a previous,My Partner Liz and our 21 month old Son Dominic.
I first got into music prob when i was about 12 or 13,starting to listen to the Electro Streetsounds collection,then moved onto listening to more Rap and Hip-Hop,things get a bit Blurry when you get to my age,but as far as i can remember i then started to listen to Stu Allen on a Sunday night on Key103 who was a massive influence on my musical tastes about the same time,think id just left school,i met up with John J,who already owned a pair of 1210`s,shortly after i got my own pair and my parents house soon became the meeting point for a gang of us to have a mix,get cained then off to the Kentucky,beware John i still have the photos somewhere!! Mark Mc was a regular,The infamous Dredd Mc,Gareth ,Simon F were also regulars. Then the Acid Night at The Village arrived,what a mental place that was,but was the only place in Blackpool to play Acid House,Then came Frenzy at Sequins,prob my alltime fave venue,Then the Partys at Blackburn started,Set End first then on to party,with a few trips inbetween to The Hacienda. I then started a job where i started work at a ridiculously early hour and my clubbing days were pretty much over,oh i also had the pleasure of sitting in the booth and watching John J and Greenbins DJ at Monroes,Good Night!! I then sort of took a back seat on the up and coming dance scene,but always had my ear to the ground,the odd mix tape here and there,the local gossip etc..Then the internet arrived and i started collecting music again,mp3`s as i had sold my beloved 1210`s back in 1993,although kept all my vinyl collection. Then almost a year ago got back in touch with my old mate John J,who mentioned his site and then opened USS(Top Site) by the way, i suppose hearing all the oldskool house and acid tunes and mixes again brought back all the happy times id had and gave me the bug,so a couple of months ago got myself a second hand pair of 1210`s and an amp,still got my old celestion speakers,oh had to get a mixer aswell,and hey-presto up and running again,a little rusty i might add,but its slowly all coming back. Eventually intend to get the attic done out and have my own little music room,a few more hours in the day wouldnt go a miss either!! Also would like to get some CD/MP3 decks on the go aswell. As for music tastes its still the oldskool acid/house/Techno for me,but really theres not much that i dislike and do tend to listen to many different types of music.Im sure i`ll think of something ive missed out,so will add later!!!!
